Very excited to drop a new papercraft, commissioned by the wonderful Laura R Samotin, inspired by her upcoming novel THE SINS ON THEIR BONES - due to be released Summer 2024!

As a Florida girl, I have inadvertently begun a Wintery reads shelf; ones steeped in fantasy or folklore so I can fall into a snowy escape of all different genres. The Starless Sea, The Winternight Trilogy, Spinning Silver, Shadow & Bone, The Monster of Elendhaven, to name a few. I was able to read an early copy of TSTB over the summer for this commission and I will whole heartily add this to my winter shelf.

This is a heavily character driven story, following two estranged royal husbands and a spymaster caught in-between, on the backdrop of a civil war-torn country inspired by 19th century Eastern Europe. I was so enthralled by the inner journey of each of these characters, ones that explore grief, lost love, down & upward spirals and new chances through forgiveness - all steeped in jewish folklore, royal politics, found families and dark fantasy goodness!

That is all I could hope to capture in this papercraft: the tightrope relationships between these characters in an all-consuming blaze. (Peek at that amazing gold paper I found 😭) There are scenes in this book that are so visually beautiful, and some that gave me absolute goosebumps to read. It pulled my heart apart like string cheese and melted it back together in a gooey mess. Definitely looking forward to the sequel!
