I must implore all of you, if you like the Elfhame saga, READ Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries by @heather_fawcett. The thing I love most about Holly Black's Elfhame stories is that she researches and honors the scary nature of faeries in folklore. (Fae fantasy, aka ACOTAR, falls very short of this). I love the rule-skirting riddles, the twisting trickery, and magical mischief that traditional faerie folklore document in their tales. Emily Wilde is THIS, plus has a wintry setting, cozy cottage core, a bookish introverted MC and mysterious rival/love interest. I'm KICKING myself for doing this again: Reading a starter series book that I LOVE almost a year before its sequel comes out. 😭
